Our Careers Advisor

This area is co-ordinated by  Careers Adviser, Mr Duncan. The careers program aims to assist students in making vocational education decisions, by providing career education and experiences in the world of work and training.

Careers guidance is implemented through a variety of strategies.  These comprise of career education taught in Years 9 and 10, individual counselling with emphasis for Years 10, 11, 12 classroom lessons, guest speakers, career markets, tertiary awareness seminars, vocational evenings, access to computer databases, destination surveys, newsletters and work placement programs.


Transition Advisor

The Transtion Advisor assists with Career Education at Parkes High school in Year 9-12. 

This includes the implemention of School Based Traneeships and School Based Apprenticeships for students in Yr 10 - 12. Students can choose to supplement their schooling with a traineeship or apprenticeship which see's students attend the  work place and complete a Vocational Education Course while studying at school.

Mrs Morrissey also co-ordinates Stage 5 Careers, including orgainising our Year 10 Work Experience Program and the Skills Training and Employment Program (STEP).
