Parkes High School recently held its Recognition Assembly for Term 1. Councillor Bill Jayet, representing the Parkes Shire Council, was on hand with Parkes High, Principal Mrs Sandra Carter and Deputy Principal, Mr Adam Currey to present students with their awards.
Many family and friends came to witness ten Year 11 students receive their gold pins for achieving Level 1 in the Wellbeing Rewards System theyhad accumulated points for effort and determination in school achievement, service and recognition.
Gold Pin recipients were Archie Lickess, Kyah Turnbull, Jackson Guy, Ella Morrissey, Faith Hanstock, Melaney Smede, Jordyn Chapple, Melanie Reeves, Katie Tanswell, and Amelia Green.
Year 8 student, Archie Rix was announced as Parkes High Student of the Term, “for being humble and showing good sportsmanship.”
Year 7 students Frasier Beaton and Sophie Cronin were announced as 2019 Student Representatives for their year and were presented with their badge and they were asked to recite the school pledge and sign the school register.
To close the assembly Year 7 students Savannah Ross and Mykayla Trevenar sang an awesome rendition of “Rip Tide” ,by Vance Joy. The girls were accompanied by music teachers, Mr Billiard and Mr Bruce.
