In early November, twenty students from Parkes High School ventured south to a property near Nowra with Col Watego (Uncle Col), Mrs Helen Vere, Mrs Peta Moran and Mr Brett Pinkstone to undertake a challenging army model program, with the goal “To Reach Your Potential” (TRYP).
During the course students learnt to; communicate silently using signals, take responsibility for survival equipment, treat a snake bite, move at night without artificial light and put up a shelter to sleep outside.
The students showed courage, resilience and respect. There will be a presentation of awards and students will present their “heart-work” showing what TRYP meant to them at the Recognition Assembly on Friday 14 December.
