Message from our Year 8 year advisor
Hello and welcome to Parkes High School Year 8. My name is Warren Murray and I will be your Year Advisor throughout your schooling at Parkes High School.
You can find me in the TAS staffroom, downstairs in C Block, next to C 16.
My role as Year Advisor is to introduce you to Parkes High School, help you settle in and answer your questions. This might include, helping you read your timetable or find your classroom. I am also here to help if you are worried about something or just want to have a chat.
Throughout the year I read your reports and see how you have settled in. I am the contact person for your parents and carers if they need to know how you are progressing.
Our goal is to make you as happy and safe at Parkes High School as possible, that way you can do your best and enjoy your time with us.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and to watch you grow and develop over the coming years.

Take the time to read the subject selection information booklet carefully and to watch the videos that staff have put together for you, to learn about Year 9 subjects and what it means for you. Parkes High School offers a broad range of subjects. If you have any questions about the subject selection process, please don't hesitate to call Mrs Slack-Smith on 68621844.

Completing the Year 8 into 9 Elective Choice Form.
Please see the instructions below to complete your elective choices for 2023. Remember you will complete TWO 200 hour courses and ONE 100 hour course. The 100 hour course is only for year 9.
