Year 10
Message from our Year 10 year advisor
Hello and welcome to Parkes High School Year 10. My name is Skye McLachlan and I am your Year Advisor while you are at Parkes High School
You can find me in the CAPPA Staffroom, upstairs in D Block, next to Di.
Throughout the year I read your reports and see how you settle in. I am a contact person if your parents and carers need to know how to help you choose your subjects for Year 11 or to know how you are progressing.
Our goal is to make you as happy and safe at Parkes High School as possible, that way you can do your best and enjoy your time with us.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and to watch you grow and develop over the coming years.
Year 10 information
Year 10,
Welcome to the next stage of YOUR future!
Take the time to read the subject selection information booklet carefully and to watch the videos that staff have put together for you, to learn about the HSC and what it means for you. Parkes High School offers a broad range of both traditional subjects and vocational subjects. If you have any questions about the subject selection process, please don't hesitate to call 68621844.
You need reading, writing and maths skills for everyday life after school. This why you are required to demonstrate a minimum standard of literacy and numeracy to receive the Higher School Certificate (HSC) from 2020.
Year 10 students will sit their Minimum Standard tests during selected periods.
Please read the attached information and view the youtube videos for information about this testing. For further information please contact the school.
