Bell times
Our school day is structured around a clear timetable. We have set times for learning sessions, activities and lunch. Understanding the bell times helps students get the most out of each part of the day.
A school day consists of five lessons. School commences each day at 9am and concludes at 3:18pm.
On Wednesday morning a weekly assembly will be held, alternating between whole school and year group assemblies.
Formal assemblies will be held approximately once a term in the L.P. Johnston Hall. Students will be advised of special requirements for these assemblies.

Late students
It's important for students to arrive on time each day. If your child is running late, please contact our front office.
Students who arrive late are to sign in at the student counter and hand in their explanatory note. They will be given a Late arrival slip and sent to class. An explanation note is expected for all students arriving late to school. If a student does not have a note they will need to see the Deputy Principal as part of the signing in process.
Student absences
Parents and carers are required to explain their child’s absence from school promptly — within seven school days.
You can provide this explanation by phone or in writing. Please include the following details:
- student’s name
- year / roll call
- date and reason for the absence
- parent/carer signature.
Alternatively, you can download, complete and return the following form to the school:
Please note: absences must be explained within seven school days, or they will remain unjustified in accordance with Department of Education guidelines.
