Bronze Medal For Girls Tennis Team

With sunny weather at Nelson Bay, the Open Girls tennis team arrived to find themselves seeded 5, meaning a Quarter Final first up against the 4^th seed Mosman High. The final result was Parkes High defeated Mosman High 4 sets each, 40 games to 34.

The Semi-Final saw Parkes against the more fancied Grafton side. Grafton proved too strong. The final score at 4 sets each, 34 games to 30. Parkes had gone within 4 games of playing for the gold medal and Floris Conway Cup.

Wednesday morning started at 8am with the Parkes High girls taking on the side from Castle Hill High School. Parkes’  strong results meant the reverse doubles were not required with the Parkes High girls claiming the bronze medal for the 3^rd place team in the CHS knockout.

Our boys team finished the tournament with a very credible 4th.
