This week we conveyed a Neptune 302 wing tip tank to the museum for restoration and painting by the students and continued on with paint stripping the horizontal stabiliser of the Heron, that should be completed next week and reinstalled on the aircraft soon after.
The students removed and replaced floor boards in Neptune 302 and fixed timber decking to the workstand to give access to remove the front window glass for replacement with perspex.
After repairs were completed, the Gannet cockpit was painted,, and with the seat re-installed, it will be ready for visitors again.
We finished the day with a well earned sausage sizzle; well done everyone.
